Karen Schmitt

With over 30 years of reinsurance experience, Ms. Schmitt joined Maiden Re (formerly GMAC RE) in 1999 after holding positions as Chief Actuary and Senior Vice President at TIG Holdings, Vice President of American Reinsurance, and various positions at Prudential Property and Casualty. Ms. Schmitt earned her MBA at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and her Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Science from Lebanon Valley College. She is a Chartered Financial Consultant, a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries, and a Fellow of both the Casualty Actuarial Society and the Canadian Institute of Actuaries.
Dave Adams

Executive Vice President and Team Leader, Specialty Underwriting
In this position, Mr. Adams, has responsibility for overseeing production, underwriting and administration of facultative, alternative market and program reinsurance treaties. With over 31 years of experience, Mr. Adams joined Maiden Re (formerly GMAC RE) in 1993. Previously, he was associated with Reliance Reinsurance Corporation as Vice President; prior to that position, he served as Assistant Vice President with North American Re. He was awarded a BBA from the University of Iowa, an MBA from the University of North Texas.
Tom Highet

Executive Vice President, U.S. Treaty Team Leader
Mr. Highet, who joined Maiden Re (formerly GMAC RE) in 1988, has 29 years of reinsurance experience. He previously held positions with PMA Re, Metropolitan Re and AFIA. Mr. Highet graduated from Stevens Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science Degree. He is an Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries.
Stacy Armstrong

Senior Vice President and Team Leader, Corporate Marketing
Ms. Armstrong, who has over 20 years of reinsurance experience, oversees broker marketing, advertising and other corporate marketing functions. Ms. Armstrong was awarded a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration, with an emphasis in Finance, from The College of New Jersey. Ms. Armstrong joined Maiden Re (formerly GMAC RE) in 1998 after holding underwriting positions at Zurich Re and St. Paul Re.
Nate Cooper

Senior Vice President and Team Leader, Broker Treaty Team
With over 22 years of experience in the reinsurance industry, Mr. Cooper has previously held underwriting positions with Cigna Reinsurance Group and Home Insurance Companies, joining Maiden Re (formerly GMAC RE) in 1994. Mr. Cooper graduated from Villanova University with a Bachelor of Arts in English.
Jim Erb

Senior Vice President and Team Leader, Underwriting
Mr. Erb, who has been with Maiden Re (formerly GMAC RE) since 1986, has over 38 years of reinsurance experience. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from Gettysburg College and attained his ARe the first year the designation was offered. Mr. Erb currently serves on the executive board of directors of the Insurance Society of Philadelphia.
Paul Hawk, Jr.
Treasurer
Mr. Hawk joined Maiden Re (formerly GMAC RE) in 1985 and currently holds the position of Treasurer with Maiden Re. He graduated from DeSales University with a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting, and has 25 years of reinsurance experience.
Dorothy Muir

Senior Vice President and Team Leader, Claims
Dorothy Muir has over 30 years reinsurance experience and has been with Maiden Re (formerly GMAC RE) since 1988. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Economics/Business at Rutgers University, her MBA, Marketing and Management at Monmouth University and her JD at Widener School of Law. Ms. Muir currently serves as a board Member for the United Way and is active in PCEA, CCEA and ARIAS.
John Quinlan

With over 29 years of industry experience, Mr. Quinlan has been with Maiden Re (formerly GMAC RE) since 1994, and previously held positions at General Reinsurance Corporation and Liberty Mutual Corporation. Mr. Quinlan graduated from East Stroudsburg College with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Sociology.
